At Walker and Hall we have over 20 years’ experience working with all types of businesses in the northwest e.g., motor manufacturers, ferry companies, nursing homes etc.
Our occupational health physiotherapy service is aimed at improving your employees health and wellbeing and reducing their absenteeism due to musculoskeletal injury e.g., low back pain, postural pain etc.
We achieve this by providing a service that is easily accessible, provided at a time that is suitable to your employees and provided by suitably qualified Chartered Physiotherapists who are all members of ACPOH (the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Occupational Health) and are trained in musculoskeletal physiotherapy treatment techniques.
Our service can be easily incorporated into your existing occupational health services or can be just as effective as a separate service.
The types of physiotherapy services we can provide are:
- On-site or clinic based musculoskeletal physiotherapy treatment
- Return to work programmes
- Manual handling training
On-site or clinic based musculoskeletal physiotherapy treatment
This is a popular service where physiotherapy treatment is provided at your place of work or one of our clinics or a combination. It is our experience that if the best outcome is to be achieved then flexibility is required.
On-site physiotherapy has many benefits which include:
- convenient access
- minimum disruption to occupational duties
- efficient and effective communication between the physiotherapist and the occupational health department / manager – allowing for regular updates on progress and recovery
- on completion of treatment, recommendations regarding a planned return to work and discussing adaptations that could be made in order to prevent re-injury or injury to another employee

Return to work programmes
This service is aimed at helping employees return to work after a period of absence or following illness or injury.
It works closely in conjunction with your occupational health service / manager and focuses upon providing the appropriate physiotherapy treatment and strengthening exercise programme, followed by an agreed return to work plan taking into consideration any adaptations that may be available.
